WHY PRINTERS?
When we came upon printers, we realized how troublesome interactions with a printer can be for novice users. They’re a product widely used by residential and commercial spaces and cannot afford to have complications with communication.

To design a solution that makes the experience of using an all-in-one printer at home more intuitive, easy to navigate and user-friendly by reducing the cognitive load on the user.

CARBON.
This All-in-one Ink Tank printer can handle all home printing needs from printing photos to scanning documents to photocopying id cards.
CONTROL PANEL.
The printer has a 4.7 inches touchscreen display. All the frequently used tools/features are available on the home screen for better accessibility.
Eco-mode button on the control panel makes the feature more visible and promotes its use.
The users can tilt the control panel to suit their convenience. The panel pops out when pressure is applied at the bottom and can be locked at 15, 30, 45, 60, and 90 degrees. Thus, the user can use it sitting on their desk or while standing, regardless of their height.
PAPER TRAY.
The sturdy paper tray slides out for inserting paper with adjustable guides.
Paper is visible at all times, so there's no last-minute rush for paper.
AMBIENT STATUS LIGHTS.
NO MORE CRUMPLED DOCUMENTS.
Picking the document from the scanning bed can create creases on the paper, whereas sliding them off would avoid wrinkles on the documents. Thus, the printer has soft angled edges on two sides such that the user can slide the document out easily.
RETRACTABLE USB CABLE.
Retractable cords provide scope for adjustable length allowing the users to use it at any distance desired. When the cable is not in use, the cord can go back into its place, less clutter.
EASY ALIGNMENT.
The pages that are not well aligned get scanned wrong. In the redesign, the user can only align the page to the upper left corner with the raised edges and the other corners laid flat.
HANDLES.
In Built handles to lift printer access door with ease.
HOME SCREEN.
Adding profiles to personalize printing experience. Profiles save user settings for ease of future use.
HEALTH CHECK.
Running a health check to make sure printer quality is up to date and understand its maintenance needs.
PREVIEW.
Previews with adjustable settings available on printer control panel. Helps user avoid misprints and make changes quickly.
ECO MODE.
This feature reduces ink consumption by lowering DPI for printing and scanning. Eco Mode also conserves energy, activating Sleep Mode after one minute of inactivity.
PARENTAL CONTROLS.
Keeping a check on ink and paper usage by child, to save resources incase of misuse.
MY PRINTABLES.
Some documents are printed frequently. Users can add those to My Printables. This feature adds convenience and helps the user save up time and effort.
HELP BUTTON.
Help Button (?) on each screen has FAQ’s regarding features on that screen. Easy access to solutions for any confusions.
HELP & SUPPORT.
Detailed but accessible menu of all features and solutions to problems related to them. Gifs and Illustrations used for better communication.
